Idea
First of all, I love orange creamsicles and I like making magnets, so some bored lunch I decided to whip up a design. Not a lot of thought went into it. I wanted it big-ish, but small enough to use just one magnet. To add some detail I decided that it would need a bite taken out of corner. Add in those little ridges that they commonly have and tada, you have a creamsicle magnet.
Successes
Printing optimization
The key to minimizing wasted filament and time with the Bambulabs AMS is to print multiple items, if you can. In this case I was able to print 6 on one build plate which led to 23 grams of purge for 89 grams of actual part. Pretty good considering there is white and most people believe that the AMS wastes 4x the filament actually used for the part.
The stick
A weird thing to think about, but I used Hatchbox Wood Filled PLA for the stick and it is satisfying. It has that subtle wood feeling you get from a real popsicle stick.
Failures
printing issues
Not sure what happened, but there were two of the size that decided to have some printing issues. Not that big of deal as one will be on my fridge and another will be on my girlfriend's fridge. Where the rest will go, no body knows...
Summary
It's fairly rare that I have mostly good things to say about what I make, so that's a resounding success.
